The check is presented to members of the City Council and Recreation Committee
State Representive David Alexander, Governor Bill Haslam, & Mayor Robin Smith hold the check for new ball field lights. This was a matching grant to the City.
Mayor, Robin Smith is proud of getting new lights to assist the youth of the city.
The cost of the project is $160,000 with the City paying 1/2 and the grant paying 1/2. This will relight the Babe Ruth Park for years to come.

The parks are open to the public but events should be scheduled through the City Hall to prevent two events using the parks at the same time. There are several events that the parks are used for, such as, Easter Egg Hunts, Halloween in the park, Car shows, craft fairs, Cancer Survivor Recognition, Public Safety Day, Ball Games and Tournaments.
